Wind Wildlife Research Fund: Bat Activity and Fatality Rates

Hatchet Ridge, Pattern Energy

A study supported by the Wind Wildlife Research Fund and published in the peer-reviewed journal Acta Chiropterologica investigated the relationship between pre-construction bat acoustic activity and post-construction bat fatality rates at wind energy facilities to evaluate the effectiveness of using pre-construction acoustic activity monitoring to assess collision risk for bats from operational wind farms.
