Siemens Joins AWWI — Wind-Wildlife Partnership Is at its Strongest Ever

AWWI is thrilled to announce that Siemens, a leading provider of energy-efficient, resource-saving technologies, has joined AWWI as a 2016 Friend. The decision by Siemens boosts the AWWI partnership to 22 wind energy leaders and 10 national science and environmental organizations, including the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies.

With Siemens joining AWWI, partners and friends include the three top wind turbine manufacturers as measured by cumulative share of the wind turbine fleet (the other two are GE Energy and Vestas). Siemens has installed over 5,000 wind turbines throughout the U.S., at wind power projects in states including Hawaii, Iowa, Kansas, Nevada, North Dakota, Oregon, Colorado, California, Pennsylvania, Texas, Washington State, and Puerto Rico.

“As Siemens works to grow wind energy in the United States, we are pleased to partner with AWWI on conservation efforts that benefit industry, wildlife, and the environment,” said Jacob Andersen, CEO, Onshore Americas, Wind Power and Renewables Siemens Energy, Inc.

“With its deep experience, broad perspective, and its commitment to excellence, Siemens further strengthens the AWWI partnership and our work towards the shared goal of advancing wind power development while protecting wildlife,” said AWWI executive director Abby Arnold.
